ANTOLOGI DOA PRAPASKAH 1-10

Amin.
- St. Ambrose dari Milan (339-397 Masehi)
========
O Lord, who hast mercy upon all,
take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me
the fire of thy Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a heart of flesh,
a heart to love and adore Thee,
a heart to delight in Thee,
to follow and enjoy Thee,
for Christ's sake, Amen.
- St. Ambrose of Milan (AD 339-397)

2. " TO LOVE FASTING "
O Lord,
I place myself in your hands
and dedicate myself to you.
I pledge myself to do your will in all things:
To love the Lord God with all my heart,
all my soul, all my strength.
Not to kill. Not to steal. Not to covet.
Not to bear false witness.
To honor all persons.
Not to do to another what I would not wish done to myself.
To chastise the body.
Not to seek after pleasures.
To love fasting.

- Saint Benedict.

3. "The Blessed Sacrament"
tapi demi Engkau.
Dengan kekuatan Hati Kudus-Mu,
bagai kekuatan api yang mengubah segala sesuatu menjadi seperti ia,
buatlah kami bersatu dalam mencintai-Mu,
dengan menarik semua orang kepada-Mu.
Sebab Engkaulah Sang Domba Paskah,
dikorbankan untuk menebus dosa,
yang, dalam Sakramen Mahakudus,
bersinar seperti pelangi rohani.
keindahan besar surga,
selalu di depan pandangan Bapa,
mengabadikan kurban sempurna-Mu di kayu Salib,
pengorbanan yang begitu menyenangkan Allah
sehingga Ia mengabulkan segala sesuatu yang baik,
yang diminta dalam nama kudus-Mu. Amin
- Fr. Vincent Martin Lucia

Make my heart, Jesus, one with Yours,
that I may love others as You have loved me,
not for selfish gain but for Your sake alone.
By the power of Your Sacred Heart,
like the power of fire to transform
everything to itself,
make us one in loving You
by drawing all humantity to Yourself.
For You are the Paschal Lamb,
offered for sins,
who, in the Blessed Sacrament,
shines out like a spiritual rainbow.
You radiate in this new
and everlasting covenant,
the very beauty of paradise,
always before the eyes of the Father,
perpetuating here Your perfect sacrifice
on the Cross,
a sacrifice so pleasing that the Father grants
everything good, asked for
in Your Holy Name. Amen.

Fr. Vincent Martin Lucia.

4. "Lord Jesus, our Savior, let us now come to you:
Our hearts are cold; Lord,
warm them with your selfless love.
Our hearts are sinful;
cleanse them with your precious blood.
Our hearts are weak;
strengthen them with your joyous Spirit.
Our hearts are empty;
fill them with your divine presence.
Lord Jesus, our hearts are yours;
possess them always and only for yourself."

(Prayer of St Augustine, 354-430 A.D.)

5.Prayer, mercy and fasting:
These three are one, and they give life to each other.
Fasting is the soul of prayer;
mercy is the lifeblood of fasting.
Let no one try to separate them;
they cannot be separated.
If you have only one of them or not all together,
you have nothing.
So if you pray, fast;
if fast, show mercy;
if you want your petition to be heard, hear the petition of others.
When you fast, see the fasting of others.
If you hope for mercy, show mercy.
If you look for kindness, show kindness.
If you want to receive, give.

- St. Peter Chrysologus, 380-450 Masehi.

6.“Happy the soul to whom it is given to attain this life with Christ, to cleave with all one’s heart to Him
whose beauty all the heavenly hosts behold forever,
whose love inflames our love,
the contemplation of whom is our refreshment,
whose graciousness is our delight,
whose gentleness fills us to overflowing,
whose remembrance makes us glow with happiness,
whose fragrance revives the dead,
the glorious vision of whom will be the happiness of all the citizens of the heavenly Jerusalem.
For He is the brightness of eternal glory,
the splendour of eternal light,
the mirror without spot.”

- St Clare of Assisi to St Agnes of Prague

7.Lord, Holy Father,
show us what kind of man it is who is
Who is hanging for our sakes on the cross,
Whose suffering causes the rocks themselves
to crack and crumble with compassion,
Whose death brings the dead back to life.
Let my heart crack and crumble
at the sight of Him.
Let my soul break apart
with compassion for His suffering.
Let it be shattered with grief at
my sins for which He dies.
And finally let it be softened with
devoted love for Him.

– St. Bonaventure

Allah, Bapa yang kudus,
Tunjukkan pada kami, Dia..
Yang tergantung di kayu salib demi kami,
Yang penderitaan-Nya menyebabkan
bebatuan retak hancur dengan iba haru,
Yang kematian-Nya menghidupkan orang mati.

Biarkan hatiku terbuka dan luruh
saat melihat-Nya.
Biarkan jiwaku pecah akan belas kasih
bagi penderitaan-Nya,
hancur dalam kesedihan atas dosa-dosaku
yang menyebabkan kematian-Nya,
dan akhirnya, biarlah hatiku melembut
dengan cinta setia kepada-Nya.

St. Bonaventura

8.O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, despair, lust of power, and idle talk.
But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Thy servant.
Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and not to judge my brother, for blessed art Thou, unto ages of ages. Amen.

-St. Ephrem of Syria

Sebaliknya,
Berikanlah roh kesucian, kerendahan hati, kesabaran, dan cinta kepada-Mu.
Ya Tuhan dan Raja-ku,
Berilah supaya aku dapat melihat kesalahanku sendiri,
dan tidak menghakimi saudaraku,
Terberkati Engkau, sepanjang segala masa. Amin.
-St. Efrem dari Siria (306-373)

9.O my God,
teach my heart where and how to seek You,
where and how to find You.
You are my God and You are my all and I have never seen You.
You have made me and remade me,
You have bestowed on me all the good things I possess,
Still I do not know You.
I have not yet done that for which I was made.
Teach me to seek You.
I cannot seek You unless You teach me
or find You unless You show Yourself to me.
Let me seek You in my desire,
let me desire You in my seeking.
Let me find You by loving You,
let me love You when I find You.
Amen.

- St. Anselm of Canterbury

Oh Tuhanku,
Ajarilah hatiku..

Biarkan aku mengasihi-Mu ketika aku menemukan-Mu.
Amin.

- St. Anselmus dari Canterbury (1033- 1109

10. Grant me, O Lord,
to know what I ought to know,
to love what I ought to love,
to praise what delights Thee most,
to value what is precious in Thy sight,
to hate what is offensive to Thee.

Do not suffer me to judge according to the sight of my eyes,
nor to pass sentence according to the hearing of the ears of ignorant men;
but to discern with a true judgement between things visible and spiritual,
and above all things always to inquire what is the good pleasure of Thy will.

Thomas A Kempis 1380-1471

Karuniai aku,
ya Tuhan,
Untuk mengetahui apa yang harus kuketahui,
Untuk mencintai apa yang harus kucintai,
Untuk memuji yang paling menyenangkan-Mu,
Untuk menghargai apa yang berharga di mata-Mu,
Untuk membenci apa yang menghina-Mu.

Jangan biarkan aku menghakimi menurut

- Thomas A Kempis 1380 -1471
