Tuhan Allahku, aku tidak tahu kemana aku pergi.
Aku tidak dapat melihat jalan di depanku. Aku tak tahu kepastian arah menuju.

Aku juga tidak terlalu mengenal diriku sendiri, dan jika kusangka aku mengikuti keinginan-Mu, mungkin bukan berarti itulah yang terjadi.
Tapi aku percaya bahwa hasrat untuk menyenangkan-Mu saja sudah menyenangkan Engkau.
Dan kuharap kumiliki hasrat itu dalam segala hal yang kulakukan.
Kuharap aku tidak pernah melakukan apapun terlepas dari hasrat itu.

Dan aku tahu, jika aku melakukannya, Engkau akan membimbingku pada jalan yang benar walaupun aku tidak mengetahuinya.
Karenanya, aku percaya kepada-Mu selalu walaupun kadang aku seperti tersesat dan ada dalam bayangan kematian.
Aku tidak akan takut, karena Engkau menyertaiku, dan tidak akan meninggalkan aku menghadapi mara bahaya ku sendirian.

Untie my hands and deliver my heart from sloth.
Set me free from the laziness that goes about disguised as activity when activity is not required of me, and from the cowardice that does what is not demanded, in order to escape sacrifice.

Jagalah aku dari dosa-dosa yang memakan daging manusia dengan api yang tak tertahankan.
Jagalah aku dari cinta akan uang dimana juga terdapat kebencian, keserakahan, dan ambisi yang mencekik hidup.
Jagalah aku dari kesombongan dan pamrih di mana orang menghancurkan diri sendiri dengan kebanggaan, kekayaan, dan reputasi.
Jagalah aku, lebih dari segala sesuatu yang lain, dari dosa.

dari kemalasan yang menyamar sebagai aktifitas ketika aktifitas itu justru tidak dibutuhkan dariku,
dan dari sikap pengecut dengan melakukan apa yang tidak diminta, untuk menghindari berkorban.
Sumbatlah lukaku akan ketamakan yang mengeringkan jiwa.

Berilah aku kekuatan menantikan Engkau dalam keheningan dan kedamaian,

Kuasailah seluruh hati dan jiwaku dengan kesederhanaan cintaMu.
Penuhilah seluruh hidupku dengan satu pikiran dan satu hasrat saja, akan cinta,
supaya aku boleh mencintai
bukan demi pujian,

tetapi demi Engkau saja.
